Puma V1.11 Football Boots - Blackouts

We think it's universally agreed within the boots community, that blackouts are the coolest boots out there, especially when they're a prototype pair. Well, imagine our complete and utter awe when these Puma football boots arrived at SoccerEquipmenttoday.

We're due an update for the innovative Puma v1 speed football boots, and going off these blacked out versions, we've got plenty to look forward to!

We don't want to give too much away at the moment, instead we just want to show off these blackout v1.11's in all their glory, and hope you'll agree they look stunning!

What is clear from these versions, which we recently spotted being play tested by Peter Lovenkrands, is that the new Puma v1.11 football boots are once again incorporating lightweight materials and technologies to continue the v1's speed theme.

Visible on the heel is Puma's special UNI technology, which makes the v1.11 the third generation to incorporate this, where the upper material is stitched rather than glued to the sole, providing the perfect fit by perfectly replicating the unique Puma Aptolast.

Puma look to have engineered an upper that is made from the same microfibre material all over, rather than integrating a textile material. And they've also redesigned the lace cover, for a smooth kicking area and unique look.

We're sure there's going to be plenty more tech info and advancements we can report on when the new Puma v1.11 soccer cleats are finally officially unveiled. But for the time being, we're going to have to drool over these blackout football boots, but to be honest we don't really mind!

NRL'S State of Origin - QLD Dominance...Again

   Hey again everyone,

Its SportsBlogger here again and this time were going to touch on the most famous of all NRL games, State Of Origin. The rivarly between NSW (New South Wales) and QLD (Queensland) has never been a secret, each state continually attempts to dominate the other, especially when it comes to Rugby League. For the past 5 years the Maroons (QLD) have run circles around the Blues with a back line which has been dubbed the best back line to have ever have played in Australian football. With what has seemed to be the most flawless back line ever things are looking bleaker and bleaker for our good old Blues. With Darren Lockyear hanging up his boots at the end of this season hopes of a degrading QLD team are high, but with quality replacements available I believe its going to be several years of doom and gloom before the Blues can reclaim there glory. Theres always that outside chance at a blindside win and thats what NSW supporters will be hoping for again this year.
Come-On Blues lets take it back!

Rugby League - Tribute to Wayne Bennet.

Hey everyone ,
So far we’ve spoken about soccer and UFC, but here at sports blogger we talk about everything and anything sports! So its time bring some new blood into the agenda and something a little closer to where we are here in Australia. Of course im talking about the NRL (National Rugby League) and the super coach of the NRL, Wayne Bennet.
Having played League as a child I have always felt quite passionate about the sport, appreciating the more technical elements of the game rather than the clashing of bodies (without protective gear) against one another.

As any of our readers know its not simply the players that make a team successful, it’s discipline and above all good coaching. A coach who demands respect of his players will always be able to bring out the best in their team and as far as coaching goes nobody can look past the NRL’s super coach, Wayne Bennet. Earning the respect of players is never easy, being judged and tested constantly. However Bennet has taken multiple aspects to coaching, coaching his team both on and off the field, helping in private matters and helping his players build character and ultimately discipline. This is what truly seperates the ordinary from the great.

Having  started his career at the Broncos when they were first established in 1988, Bennet secured back to back premierships in 92-93 with a further premiership wins leading up to 2006 whereby Bennet secured his 6th premiership win. Having also coached both the Queensland and Australia to multiple series wins in State of Origin and Tri-nation series respectively, it is no wonder Bennet has been dubbed the “Super Coach” of the rugby league. And if that wasn’t enough Bennet changed clubs and began coaching St George Illawarra Dragons, securing a minor premiership in 2009 and a premiership win in 2010.

Yuvraj Singh

Yuvraj Singh is one of the main players in the Indian Cricket Team since many years. He is best known for his six sixes in one over against England's Stuart Broad in 2007 World twenty20, this has never been performed by any senior players in an international match.
His performance in 2011 world cup was quite remarkable. In the ICC World Cup 2011, in India's match against Ireland, he became the first player to take 5 Wickets and score 50 runs in a World Cup match. He took his 100th ODI wicket. Four times he became the Man of the Match. He was hence declared the Man of the Tournament in the World Cup2011.

He is a brilliant middle order batsman for the team and has saved team from losing a lot of times. I think his placement order is perfect as I feel that he can play well under pressure. The best example can be his performance against Australia in ICC World Cup 2011.
In 2011 he became the captain of Pune Warriors in Indian Premier League(IPL). The team lost six matches in a row for which Yuvraj is blaming the fielders. Its too early to comment on him as a captain as its a new team.

EPL title race

The English Premier League (EPL) got a lot more interesting last week following the results. Arsenal dropped two points because of their 3-3 draw with Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea won (again), after a great display against West Brom (3-1) and Manchester United also drew their game last week 1-1 against Newcastle United. This leaves the top three looking like this in the points table (Columns 2 and 3 are Games Played and Current Points)-

Man United
33
 70
Chelsea
33
 64
Arsenal
33
 64
Now it may seem like Man U are sitting comfortably at the top with a six point cushion. But looks can be deceiving. Out of the five games remaining in the EPL, they have some pretty tough fixtures ahead of them, including games against both Chelsea and Arsenal! They are also still in the Champions league, meaning fatigue will be a big issue for them. Finally, they have had a dip in their form, unable to win any of their last two games. Now this is where it gets exciting. Theoretically, Man U are the most likely team to drop the most points as we enter the final stretch of the Premier League. Along with that, if both Chelsea and Arsenal can beat them, then they basically have to say adiós to the title. The other two teams in the table have pretty decent fixtures, and are thus expected to win maximum points. But, this is soccer we are talking about, and anything can happen, as history concurs. The team that can be the most consistent, and show the most hunger to be champions, will definitely emerge triumphant!

UEFA Champions League Quarter Final

13th April, 2011 marked the end of the quarter finals of the biggest annual soccer tournament, the UEFA Champions League. Here are the final aggregate results:

Tottenham Hotspur 0 - 5 Real Madrid
There were no problems for Real Madrid against Tottenham, who comfortably won both the legs. But with all due respect, had Peter Crouch, the 201cm target man, not been sent off in the 15th minute of the first leg, Real probably would have had a way more difficult task. Personally, the excitement of the game evaporated after that incident, and anyone who understands football could tell who would progress!

Schalke 04 7 - 3 Internazionale
At the beginning of the quarter-finals, no-one would have bet against Inter, the defending champions, the side with star players at pretty much all the positions. But the 'mediocre' side from Germany not only caused a huge upset, but literally thrashed Inter, making a bold statement to the three other teams.

Manchester United 3 - 1 Chelsea
Manchester United progress, completely dominating their fierce rivals, who look destined to end the season trophyless. Man U were sharp, composed and thus got the better of the Blues AGAIN, who are far away from their average form.

Barcelona 6 - 1 Shakhtar Donetsk
No surprises here! Barcelona, the best team in the world, has easily disposed of Shakhtar. Producing a professional performance, they booked their place in the final four, with Lionel Messi, the Ballon d'Or winner, netting the solo goal in the second leg.

Chit Chat about Soccer Jerseys

I used to team Liverpool for a funny reason, their soccer jerseys are stunning. I have a special love for the “Carlsberg” logo right in front. The "~" sign under the Carlsberg name makes the kit appear dynamic. And since it fits so well with the Liverpool Kit, whenever I see Carlsberg name with the red background even without LFC crest, Liverpool FC immediately come to my mind instead of Beer!! In a word, Carlsberg’s logo is like an unofficial second logo of the LFC, to me and many other LFC supporters, I think. It’s such a pity that this wonderful partnership ended in 2009. Standard Chartered then entered in with £20M paid for a season to be the official sponsor of LFC. And look at the new shirt now, looks like a rugby shirt. So overall maybe it’s a good deal for the club, but a “harsh” fact for special LFC fans like me.

My another interesting theory about why I prefer Inter Milan to AC Milan is that blue and black look better in the jersey than red and black. According to AC Milan’s history, the colours were chosen to represent the players' fiery ardour (red) and the opponents' fear to challenge the team (black). However, historical factors aside, in my view the red and black stripes make people look fat and dull. What’s more, the design of the AC Milan’s jerseys can’t highlight the players’ toned body shape, on the other hand, Inter’s jerseys just  make their players look sexy. Look at Milito,  Zanetti, Materazzi…

Alright, so what are your favourite soccer jerseys? Write down your comments here and share with us on Sports Blogger.

Torres, feel sorry for you

Another loss for Chelsea. With the aggregate result of 1:3, the Blues are ruled out in the Champions League. Back to the Premier League, getting the trophy seems hopeless as well.

To be honest, I’ve never been a fan of Chelsea, for their tough style is not to my taste. Torres is the sole reason why I keep an eye on this team recently. However, after this game, I really feel sorry for them, both. Ever since transferred to Chelsea, Torres, one of the finest world-class strikers, hasn’t scored a goal for 14 matches. The £50m deal becomes the worst nightmare for Chelsea and also lays tremendous pressure on Torres himself as the record still goes on.

T9 met former captiain
Date back to 2010,   Torres had already endured a hugely disappointing World Cup, where despite winning the medal with Spain he had failed to score. And back to the tournament in the Premier League, his form began to drop when Hodgson replaced Benitez at Liverpool. Guess he just looked a shadow of his former self at Atlético de Madrid , thus on 31 January, Torres made the decision to move to Stamford Bridge and play for Chelsea. But now after half a year’s struggle, I begin to doubt if this move is sensible. Will Torres become next Sheva?

Rumours have come that Chelsea plans to sell this Mr. £50m this summer. This obviously can’t be true. But, anyhow ,as a fan of Torres, I just hope for the best and may he perform well next season.

Soccer Mania

I’m a big fan of soccer. Whatever you call it,足球,  fútbol,  fußball, calcio, soccer or football. I just love this game.
My peers in China, especially those girls who fancy basketball, are often confused why I’m into such a dull 90-minute game in which the players simply kick the ball back and forth. “Don’t you feel bored when you spend a bunch of time watching soccer and it only turns out 0 to 0?” They ask. Absolutely not!! Like any other sport, soccer is about passion, competition, teamwork. Moreover, it’s a spectacle where art, psychology, culture, even magic can all collide. The simplicity of” kick the ball around” contains infinite complexity and everyone can get pure fun from the game. video:I love football
As a female soccer fan, I admit I’m not keen on the strategy in the real game. When I’m following it, I reckon myself as a psychologist, anthropologist and  philosopher more than a pure sports fan. Yes, I like exploring the psychological factors in those games because sometimes they matter more than the playing skills and for that reason Germany has always been my beloved national team. I believe that the strong willpower, good mentality are the key to Germany’s stable performance which are scant in many stars-gathered, elegant but fragile teams such as England, Argentina etc. Spain was once and for a long time in this list. However, its fate has been rewrited in the last three years since 2008 Euro Cup. The team has become more mature and won the 2010 World Cup eventually.

Speaking of the World Cup, that’s another reason why I/we love this game. In my view, rather than an ultimate test of a nation’s soccer skills, W.C is an ultimate clash of culture. Every national team has its own unique style reflecting its cultural characteristics: Latin fire, Mediterranean passion, Deutsch toughness and invincibility, Aussie rebellion and fearlessness. Sadly as a Chinese fan, after being hurt by my own national team for countless times, I really can’t define our cultural characteristics, so maybe “unpredictable Chinese whimsy”. Anyway, better just forget about it.

So what is the ultimate reason I love this game  so deeply?  Because soccer is life itself. We follow it as we live.
